This summer, Muslim Hands’ fantastic team of volunteer fundraisers have been taking fundraising to astonishing new heights!
Teams of fundraisers recently took on the longest zip line in Europe – Zip World Velocity – in North Wales, raising around £13,000 to help supply clean safe water to communities abroad, whilst a group of 12 adrenaline junkies later also skydived 13,000 feet at the Beccles Airfield (Suffolk) to support our worldwide orphan care programme. As we now move further into the summer, our volunteers are still looking for challenges! Teams will be climbing Ben Nevis and Snowdon for our Food4Kids programme, having raised a staggering £60,000!
However, the adventures don’t stop at home! Volunteers from MH UK and South Africa have joined together and will be heading to Tanzania in early August for ten days to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to support our Food4Kids and children’s Sub-Saharan Africa programmes. Here in the UK, £80,000 has been raised so far to transform hundreds of children’s lives.
Finally, we’re also offering volunteers a unique hands-on experience. After fundraising an astonishing £50,000 to date, a team of 14 UK-based volunteers will be heading out to Kashmir, working on local health and educational programmes for a life changing, unforgettable experience.
After a busy summer fundraising, we’d like to say a massive thank you to all our inspiring volunteers: “On behalf of Muslim Hands, I would like to say thank all of our participants and volunteers for supporting causes around the world. Our work can only grow with the support of dedicated people,” Ali Haider, Events and Volunteers Manager.
Your incredible efforts make so much of what we do possible. Jazakumullahukhairan!
